I keep seeing more and more ads for pet food that is gluten, corn, soy, and wheat free. It amazes me that there is such a demand for limited ingredient pet food that even major companies like Purina are following suit and changing to the customers’ needs – yet our human-food grocery stores are still packed full of grossly processed “Frankenfoods.” I would seriously LOVE to be able to go into a store and have multiple packaged products to choose from with labels like these. (I know…I know….I could always suck it up and cook more often!) So until I decide I like to cook, here’s hoping that this is a good testament to the fact that if we consumers keep putting our money where our mouths are – slowly, hopefully, the tides will turn!
Do you have pets? Do you feed them specific foods based on allergies, diets, needs, or preferences? Do they eat better than you? Or do they get the cheap stuff? Have you noticed a change in their health or behavior accordingly?
